Crown reduction cut

by Mark Russell on June 10, 2011

I was just on the phone with a client talking to her about how to make the best of the situation when a tree had been topped.

That said,  I decided to create this video.

Topping a tree is a very bad practice if you care for the health of the tree.   However,  from time to time clients find themselves having to deal with a tree that has been topped.

The best thing to do is make sure that the final cut was made in the proper fashion so that decay can be reduced to a minum and closure of the wound can be assisted as fast and with the minimal amount of stress to the tree as possible.

an illustration on where the final cut for crown reduction cut should be made

I hope you enjoy the video.
